as John Woolman

Quaker John Woolman, guided by inner light and God’s truth, devoted his life to opposing slavery and all forms of injustice. Through faith, humility, and compassion, he challenged society to consider the spiritual consequences of oppression, inequality, violence, and exploitation of both people and creation. His influence on abolition and the moral conscience of society remains profound and enduring.
